I found a real Tante Emma Laden on 5dec96. Sadly it is closing down on 7dec96, after the were in business since August 1957. The owner/operator ("Tante Emma") was Marga Jansen (72 years of age) and the shop was located at Marktplatz 14, in Aachen-Brand. Actually a "Feinkost + Lebensmittel Geschäft" it is always easy to spot by the enourmous triangular shaped scales... an archetypical image, which drew me into the shop to take the photo. Alas, Tante-Emma-Laden times are over, supermarkets are the modern way, factory-food rules the shelves.
