This is a most elegant mail-stop for those on the
move (like Norbert with his main project, the Astronomical
Pocket Diary). Poste Restante is french for "we
hold the mail for you until you come and pick it up" (french
being the international postal language). Of course, they will also redirect
your mail (only inside New Zealand for letters from New Zealand). If you
use this service longer than a month, you have to pay the equivalent fee
of a P.O.box.

There are plans for a public internet terminal here. It shall be
really primitive, indestructible, just a possibility to send a quick note
and to receive a very brief message. The customer can search through the
public pool of arriving emails, anyone can read anyone's message. Hopefully
people generate not too many bouncing messages, and the system receives
no junk-mail. If anyone would like to help with the setup ... please email
